Principal's Message
Dear Kensico Families,
Is it hot or what?? July has really hit us with some of the hottest temperatures we’ve seen in ten years (according to Joe Rao). I hope you are finding relief at the Mount Pleasant or Greenburgh pools or maybe keeping cool at The Westchester or Galleria.
You may be asking yourself … what does Mr. Curran do during the summer? Actually, I do a lot of things. I am working on the school schedule – adding an extra 5th grade class and extending Physical Education classes. I am interviewing for two teachers for 3rd and 4th grade. I am learning a new budget program to make purchasing supplies, materials and books easier for Kensico. Finally, I am busy every morning dropping my son, Ryan, off at camp and then rushing home at the end of the day to pick him up and bring him to Lacrosse practice. My daughter, Sammi, has been helping around the office at Kensico, so I am fortunate to spend time with her.
But as busy as I am, it is lonely at Kensico without students. They are the pulse of our school and bring so much enjoyment and life to the building. So while Mr. Castellanos and the custodial staff clean the building and wax the floors, and Mrs. Raiano and Mrs. DiBari are busy ordering supplies, materials and books, updating student records, registering new students and much more to get ready for the 2010/2011 school year, life goes on at Kensico in the summer.
Please continue to enjoy your summer. Stay cool at the pool, apply sunscreen, and don’t forget your summer reading books and projects!
See you in September!
Matthew C. Curran
